Roughing the Snapper

K is in scrimmage-kick formation on fourth and 17 from its own 20-yard line.  Immediately following the snap, R1 charges directly into the snapper A1.  The kick is caught by R2 and he is downed on the 40.

Ruling: R1 has roughed the snapper.  In addition to the yardage, the penalty also includes an automatic first down.  Following enforcement, it is K's ball first and 10 from it's own 35-yard line.(9.4.6B)Casebook
